Half an hour later, after reading Zoe’s profile thoroughly, clicking on links to other friends in photos and investigating further, I was sure of what I had found. Rachel was having an affair with Zoe behind Eve’s back…of that much I was sure.

I set the phone aside and stared into nothing. Minutes ticked by as I sat there, thinking and mulling over the situation, not knowing what to do.

All was quiet in Eve’s room. I could hear nothing at all and I wondered if she had gone to sleep. I feared not though-I felt like she would be sitting crying and thinking about what to do. As Eve’s phone began to ring beside me, I picked it up and looked at the display. It was Rachel.

Walking over to Eve’s door again, I leant against the wood. ‘Eve! Rachel’s calling you again! Can you open up? Just show me you’re okay?’ I asked.

Silence greeted me yet again. I didn’t think she was going to answer me at all until the door opened suddenly. She reached out for the phone, took it from me and then turned and hurled it out the open window in her room. Then turning back to me, she burst into tears and stepped into my arms.
